Equipment check

Járningamannafélag Ísland is in charge of shoeing inspection at the tournament, as has been the case in recent tournaments, and their employees act on behalf of the tournament's chief judge in the gæðingakeppni and sport competition.

The arrangement will be as follows:

• Equipment check takes place in the equipment check house opposite the warm-up field at Hvammsvöllur
• More than 33% of horses will be examined or approximately 1 out of 3 in preliminary rounds
• Equipment check staff reserve the right to inspect more horses than are included in the sample, if they deem it necessary, as animal welfare is always a priority at the tournament.
• Geldings or unshown horses 145 cm tall or taller, must bring proof/confirmation of their height, if hooves are longer than 9 cm
• In the children's and youth category, one guardian may accompany a rider to the equipment check, and a rider will always come directly from the track to the equipment check if he is called.
• Riders are obliged to familiarize themselves with the rules on shoeing and equipment in section 8.3. in the general rules for the competition on the LH website
